A lack of water during the growth period will hinder banana production. Frequent irrigation is therefore important. The irrigation frequency will depend on the evapotranspiration, the soil’s water retention capacity and the root depth. It may therefore vary from three days under high evaporation conditions with light soil up to 15 days under low evaporation conditions.
